PRINCETON, NJ –  Before dawn, about 60 reenactors gathered at the Princeton Battlefield off of Mercer Street to showcase the role Princeton played in the Revolutionary War.

Around 150 spectators convened at the Princeton Quaker Friends Day School at 7am on Sunday, December 30th, led by Historian William L. Kidder, author of “Ten Crucial Days: Washington’s Vision for Victory Unfolds.”

Joining General Washington at the battle of Princeton were Generals Alexander Hamilton and Hugh Mercer. Mercer was killed by bayonet during the battle.

This group of reenactors hopes to come to Crosswicks later this year to portray the Battle of Crosswicks that took place in the Village Square.
