Board of Education To Interview 7 Candidates to Fill Vacancy

CHESTERFIELD, NJ – The Chesterfield Twp Elementary Board of Education will interview candidates at their next public meeting to fill the vacancy left when former Board President Jignesh Shah resigned on December 17th.

Board President Christina Hoggan tells WBNC News Monday that 7 people have applied to join the Board of Education, and they plan to interview them in public session at the meeting this Wednesday.

Interested qualified residents had until January 17th to apply for the unexpired term, and needed to meet criteria including: must be a resident of Chesterfield Township for at least 1 year, must be at least 18 years old, and must not have been convicted of a crime.

Interviews will take place during the public Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7pm at Chesterfield Elementary School. The Board will then discuss the candidates in an executive session. It is not clear if a decision will be made that night of who will join the board. The new member will join Board President Ms. Christina Hoggan, Board Vice-President Mrs. Amy Jablonski, and Board Members Dr. Terran Brown and Mrs. Jackie Halaw.
