CROSSWICKS, NJ –  The holiday season is officially here as the Crosswicks Christmas Tree was lit Sunday night. The town gathered at the Crosswicks Community House for the big holiday event Sunday evening, as many talented musical performers entertained the crowd.

Members of the Northern Burlington High School Band started things off, performing several holiday classics. They were then followed by local Girl Scout Troops, who led the town in singing holiday carols with Abby Lynch. When the time came, Chesterfield Township Mayor Rita Romeu was asked by the Community Association to officially light the Christmas Tree.

“I think the holidays really are a time to relax; have a nice peaceful time with family and friends, and cherish the friends you have, and maybe make some new friends. Maybe even tonight! So, I wish everybody here, new friends and old, a very, very Happy Holiday Season.”

As soon as the tree was lit, The Crosswicks Fire Company drove Santa Claus to the Community House, where kids could meet him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Inside was decorated and complimentary cookies and cider were available.
