ALLENTOWN, NJ –

ORGANIZATIONS FROM OUR AREA WERE BUSY THIS PAST WEEKEND PARTICIPATING IN MANY MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES!

FIRST, ON FRIDAY CROSSWICKS TROOP 55 JOINED HUNDREDS OF OTHER SCOUTS WHO HONORED OUR FALLEN HEROES AT BRIGADIER GENERAL WILLIAM C. DOYLE MEMORIAL CEMETERY BY PLACING FLAGS ON THEIR GRAVES.

MONDAY, THE SCOUTS TRAVELED TO ALLENTOWN TO WALK IN THEIR ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE. ALSO IN ALLENTOWN’S PARADE WAS FIRE TRUCKS FROM BOTH CROSSWICKS AND CHESTERFIELD FIRE COMPANIES.

NORTHERN’S NEW AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC PROGRAM HONORED OUR NATION’S FALLEN AT THIS YEAR’S SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY.

AND OVER AT THE OLD MUNICIPAL BUILDING, SEVERAL TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS GATHERED AT THE MEMORIAL SITE FOR A CEREMONY LED BY THE CHESTERFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH. AMONGST THE CROWD WAS EMT FROM MANSFIELD AND MANY RETIRED VETERANS. MANY VETERANS AND FALLEN SOLDIERS WERE THANKED AND REMEMBERED. THE EVENT ENDED WITH EAGLE SCOUT KYLE QUINLEN PLAYING TAPS.
