JACKSON, NJ –

The search for former Northern student Cody MacPherson has ended with his body identified in Jackson, New Jersey.

MacPherson was last seen alive in Pemberton at the home of a woman with whom he was romantically involved on September 24th, 2017. The family tells NJ.com there was an altercation at that home.

According to an NJ1015 report, “A body later identified as MacPherson’s was found on March 20 as New Jersey Forest Fire Service crews prepared a controlled burn in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area off Stump Tavern Road in Jackson.”

MacPherson’s brother wrote on his Facebook page, thanking all those who searched for Cody, “You truly have blessed hearts. We can never repay you.”

According to Arrests.org, Alan Mcginnis of Ocean County was arrested on April 21st on charges of Murder and Failure to Dispose Human Remains, among other charges, and remains in jail.
