CROSSWICKS, NJ –

The 98th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting took place Sunday at the Crosswicks Community House.

The event began with many girl scouts from the area entertaining the big crowd with holiday carols.

After a prayer from LifeSpring Church Pastor Joe Artese, the girl scouts, along with resident Jenn Lynch, counted down to light the tree.

After the tree was lit, Santa arrived on his sleigh, pulled by a truck from the Crosswicks Fire House. He went into the Crosswicks Community House where children had the opportunity to meet him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. The Community Association also provided cider, hot chocolate, and the girl scouts provided desserts.

Earlier on Sunday, The Crosswicks Fire House hosted their monthly pancake breakfast, celebrating Breakfast with Santa! While enjoying all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage, kids got to meet Kris Kringle himself.
