BORDENTOWN, NJ –

The Bordentown Police Department says it has made it a priority to engage in DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) enforcement, as well as participate in education campaigns to reduce drunk driving.

Unfortunately, they write, some people continue to operate vehicles while impaired, risking not only their lives but members of the public’s lives as well.

This was the case on July 22nd, at 2:45am when Bordentown Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Old York Road. Based on the damage (seen in the picture above), the Department says they originally thought the crash had to have resulted in a fatality. Luckily, police found the driver, a 22-year-old female, survived, but with serious injuries. After an investigation, she was determined to have been operating the vehicle under the influence.

The BTPD implores everyone to do their part to end drunk and drugged driving so crashes such as these no longer occur on our roadways.
