TRENTON, NJ – NJ Governor Chris Christie delivered his second inaugural address today and shortly after issued a State of Emergency for his state.

“Today’s winter storm is expected to produce heavy snow, dangerous conditions and travel hazards throughout the state,” Christie said in a statement released today. “I’ve authorized state officials to take all necessary action to prepare, and my Administration will continue monitoring conditions throughout the remainder of the storm.”

“I encourage all New Jerseyans to stay off the roads if possible,” he continued, “so that our first responders and public safety officials can safely respond to any emergency situations.”

The State Police reported minor accidents across the state as of 1:30 p.m.

A party for Christie’s inauguration was scheduled for tonight on Ellis Island but has been canceled due to the storm.
