SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ  –

Prince Harry visited the Jersey Shore earlier today accompanied by NJ Gov. Chris Christie.

The 2 surveyed the damage caused by Sandy in 2 shore towns: Seaside Heights to see the now-famous roller-coaster that was destroyed and was stuck in the ocean.  Then, the pair traveled to Mantoloking, 10 miles north to see the town’s 521 damaged or destroyed homes.

In a related story, that roller-coaster was demolished today.

The Prince said he was impressed by the state’s recovery of Hurricane Sandy, which came through New Jersey almost 6 months ago.

As the two explored Seaside Heights, stopping to try out an arcade game, Prince Harry was presented with his own fleece, similar to the one Gov. Chris Christie wore during the storm.

Prince Harry heads to New York after this.  He began his week-long trip to the US on May 9th.
